Ingredients
- 1 lb Fresh green beans, trimmed
- ½ cup Water
- 1 cup All-purpose flour
- 1 large Egg
- ⅓ cup Milk
- 2 cups Seasoned fine dry Bread crumbs
- 1 tsp Chili powder
- 1 tsp Garlic powder
- 1 tsp Onion powder
- ¼ tsp Salt
- Cooking spray
- Lemon wedges for serving
For Special Sauce:
- ½ cup Mayonnaise
- ¼ cup Ketchup
- 2 tsp Mustard
- 1 tsp Minced sweet or Dill pickle
- 1 tsp Steak seasoning
- ⅛ tsp Cayenne pepper
Notes
- Preheat your air fryer to 400°F (200°C).
- In a shallow dish, pour 1/2 cup of water and place the trimmed green beans in it to dampen them.
- In separate shallow dishes, set up a breading station. In the first dish, place the all-purpose flour. In the second dish, whisk together the egg and milk. In the third dish, combine the seasoned breadcrumbs, chili powder, garlic powder, onion powder, and salt.
- Take a few green beans from the water, shake off the excess water, and dredge them in the flour, shaking off any excess. Then dip them in the egg mixture, allowing any excess to drip off. Finally, coat the green beans evenly with the seasoned breadcrumbs, pressing gently to adhere.
- Place the coated green beans in a single layer in the air fryer basket. You may need to cook them in batches, depending on the size of your air fryer.
- Lightly spray the green beans with cooking spray to promote crispiness.
- Air fry the green bean fries at 400°F (200°C) for 5-7 minutes or until they turn golden brown and crispy. Shake the basket halfway through cooking for even browning.
- While the green bean fries are cooking, prepare the special sauce. In a small bowl, mix together mayonnaise, ketchup, mustard, minced pickle, steak seasoning, and cayenne pepper. Stir well until all the ingredients are combined.
