Directions
- Prep the Oven & Pan
Preheat your oven to 180°C (350°F). Grease and line an 8-inch round cake tin with parchment paper.
- Cream Butter & Sugar
In a large bowl, beat the softened butter and sugar until light and fluffy—about 3–4 minutes.
- Add Eggs & Flavor
Beat in the eggs one at a time. Stir in the orange zest, juice, and vanilla extract.
- Fold in Dry Ingredients
Sift in the flour, baking powder, and salt. Gently fold until just combined—don’t overmix.
- Bake
Pour the batter into your prepared tin. Bake for 30–35 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
- Glaze & Serve
Mix icing sugar and orange juice to make the glaze. Drizzle over the cooled cake and sprinkle with zest.
