Tomato Salad

To make a refreshing tomato salad, start by mixing salt, garlic, vinegar, and olive oil to create a dressing. Add sliced green onions to the dressing and pour it over peeled and cut tomatoes. Toss the salad and chill it in the refrigerator before serving.

Ingredients

  • 1/2 tsp Salt
  • 1 large cloves Garlic, peeled and Cut in Half - 1 large clove
  • 1/4 cup Wine Vinegar - 60 ml
  • 1/8 tsp Pepper - 0.5 ml
  • 1/3 cup Olive Oil - 80 ml
  • 8 large Green Onions, White part only - 8 large
  • 6 medium Tomatoes - 6 medium

Notes

  1. Take a small bowl and measure out the required amount of salt.
  2. Add garlic to the bowl and mash it with a fork until it turns into a nearly smooth paste.
  3. Pour in the wine vinegar and stir the mixture with a fork until the salt dissolves completely.
  4. Remove any peppercorns or strain the mixture if needed.
  5. Gradually add olive oil to the bowl, whisking the mixture with a fork until it emulsifies completely with the garlic mixture.
  6. Slice the green onions into thin pieces, and add them to the oil mixture.
  7. Peel the tomatoes and cut each tomato into six wedges.
  8. Take a chilled bowl and place the tomato wedges in it.
  9. Pour the oil mixture over the tomato wedges and toss them lightly until they are well coated.
  10. Cover the bowl and chill it in the refrigerator for a few minutes before serving.
